The C100 from VCS Video Communication Systems AG is a new high resolution, multi-standard IP camera which can operate in both digital and analogue environments. It can be linked directly to a local Ethernet network or to the internet, and simultaneously to an analogue surveillance system via its video output connector.
The C100 is also the first camera to support network transmission using M-JPEG/HTML allowing picture display and easy camera control through any conventional web browser, as well as H.323 the current video conferencing multimedia standard. Its highly efficient compression ensures top quality live video transmission over all IP networks for applications such as CCTV surveillance, remote control production and maintenance, access control and facility management. Optimum performance with full functionality is achieved when the C100 is used with a VCS software decoder (PROVILite, PROVILook, PROVI or PROVIStore). The camera boasts full remote control and multicasting as well as intelligent alarm and control features for professional CCTV applications. The integral motion detection function can establish a network connection automatically and trigger an alarm, while the internal ring buffer provides pre-alarm recording. The C100 can e-mail event-controlled alarm snapshots of the surveillance area to pre-determined addresses, or it can transmit an SMS message. Its two-way serial interface supports the remote control of external devices such as pan/tilt heads.
