Dog Standard

The draft BS 8517 for “The Use of General Purpose Security Dogs” is now out for public comment. The latest date for receipt of comments is February 28.

Previously British Standards Institute (BSI) approached the National Association of Security Dog Users (NASDU) to use their Code of Practice as the basis to develop the first ever British Standard for security dogs, this was agreed and following a number of meetings with the BSI and other industry people the draft was prepared which is now open for public consultation.

The draft British Standard is available for review and comment online via the BSI British Standards Draft Review System at http://drafts.bsigroup.com, registration is free and takes less than a minute.
