EEMA – the European not-for-profit association for e-business, is launching a role-based access control user guide.
The guide will be of use to business managers wishing to understand not only the role of RBAC within the sphere of Identity Management, but also those needing advice about how to implement system effectively, say EEMA. The document has been compiled by EEMA members including the AstraZeneca, European
Commission, Guardeonic, KPMG, IBM, the National Health Service, Protek, Royal Mail, Technology Nexus Danmark, Siemens and Volvo, and contains sections on methodology, lessons learnt, user-based case studies, standards as well as a pointer to future trends.
What they say
David Goodman, chair of the project, and IBM Directory Integrator Specialist says: ?The user guide is the result of users, vendors and consultants coming together to exchange views, experiences and ideas concerning the relatively new area of role-based access control as well as the confluence of identity services and business process management. There is a tremendous amount of detailed information within the guide, a large part of which was produced within the RBAC project itself. I anticipate it will form a core feature of the programme for the forthcoming workshop.? EEMA’s February workshop, Identity Solutions for Better Businesses, will also concentrate on the broader area of identity services, with presentations and discussions centred around the building of an identity infrastructure.
