Application service provider PinPointers, Benefon telephone distributor Saturn Technologies and mobile data company Hugh Symons have agreed to market the Benefon Track One, a communications device that combines a GSM phone and a GPS receiver with an emergency call button. Water-resistant, the product is a solution for a range of personnel who work by themselves, including security officers and staff in petrol stations, and drivers. Stuart Gray, Managing Director of PinPointers, said: ?Not only lone workers can use this new communications system, but also people who are vulnerable or likely to be in threatening situations.? Pushing the BeneGuard button sends an SOS message or opens a voice connection to a predefined emergency number, and a text message and email can be sent to colleagues and the authorities. PinPointers GPS tracking software enables every message to provide location and time information. PinPointers uses mapping data providing maps down to street level.
