Homeland Conference

by msecadm4921

International homeland security is the title of a RUSI conference on May 10 at the institute’s Whitehall, central London home.

According to the military and defence institute, the last decade has seen a global explosion in anti-terrorism legislation, organisational security reforms, international collaboration and expanding use of technology in attempts by states to prepare for developing homeland security threats.

Some of these changes have led to concerns regarding both their cost and necessity and in terms of the compromising of civil liberties and derivations from international or domestic norms. Exploring and attempting to evaluate the impact and benefits of such measures is critical to the development of future homeland security policy, ensuring that policies are reactions to needs rather than events and are both prudent and effective.

Hence the conference as a forum, for the military, government, academic and private sectors. For further information on this event, ring Dawn Williams on 020 7747 2615.
