IFSEC – the International Fire and Security Exhibition at the NEC from May 19 to 22 – is 30 this year.
With the backing of the Association for Biometrics, the Biometrics Village will form a key part of the show, say organisers. As before it will incorporate the Biometrics Advice Zone, presenting visitors with the chance to ask ad hoc questions to experts from the AfB and seek advice from exhibitors specialising in this field.
What they say
IFSEC event manager Richard Clarke commented, ?With 15 per cent of our visitors coming to the show to see biometrics, this technology is now firmly established as a key part of the event and I?m sure will be an IFSEC mainstay for years to come. The success of this area demonstrates that the security industry has long seen IFSEC as the breeding ground for break-through technologies. With the onset of IP networking, storage technologies, and data security, IFSEC 2003 will mark the advent of the next phase of the development of the security industry.?
Fire too
With six months until the show runs, the end-user event Security Solutions proves ever popular, say organisers. Already fully booked, it provides the chance for exhibitors to talk to the people who use the systems and impart their practical know-how. Visitors can go along in the knowledge that the people they speak to can solve their practical issues. Now a biennial exhibition, International Fire Expo will adjoin IFSEC after a year?s absence. This year for the first time an Emergency Action Zone will feature, providing a change in pace to an exhibition hall with 175 fire industry?s specialists. In an outdoor setting, it will comprise of product demonstrations, and displays that impact further on fire fighting, protection and prevention. Sprinkler demos, fire extinguisher trials will all feature prominently, along with an extrication competition. IFSEC and Security Solutions 2003 adjoins International Fire Expo, Safety & Health Expo and ACPO ? The International Police Conference and Exhibition. The four events combine to make one of the most formidable Fire, Health, Safety and Security events in the world. Companies interested in exhibiting at IFSEC should contact Charlie Cracknell on 020 8987 7891 or email him on [email protected]. Up-to-date to date information on the event will be posted on the event website, www.ifsec.co.uk where visitors can also pre-register for free.
