Capital Eye reports the release of their CEO, Simon Imbert, from the Tower of London after a bail-out – in aid of charity.

Simon Imbert is completing his yearas Master of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, the Livery Company representing the security industry. As part of his final day in office, he was ‘arrested’ in Mansion House in the capital and taken to the Tower of London where he was jailed for charity. To secure his release he needed to raise over £1,000 for the British Red Cross or face the prospect of remaining in one of the country’s most secure prison locations.

He was arrested on the morning of June 8 and taken to the Tower of London as his final fund-raising act as Master of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. During his period of office, Simon has represented the Company in many national events and has led their continued fund-raising activities which, with the monies raised yesterday have reached in excess of £0.5m.

Although sometimes seen as old fashioned and very traditional, the livery companies of London have, in fact, been instrumental in regulating working standards and managing the professions, back to the Middle Ages. Since the Industrial Revolution, as many trades and professions changed, the Livery Companies have continued to thrive. Today. Its main raison-d’être is to raise funds for charitable use.

Simon Imbert, Chief Executive Officer of Capital Eye, said: "The past year has been very hard work, very busy and extremely rewarding – I have enjoyed the time and am aware of the enormous privilege I have had of serving in such an office. It was, of course a relief to have been successfully bailed from the Tower of London – as a location it is renowned as being one from which others less fortunate have not returned." The last felons to be incarcerated in the Tower were the Kray brothers.

Capital Eye was formed in the mid 1990s by Lord Peter Imbert, former Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard. The company was established to provide clients with policing and security expertise. Through its subsidiary Policing Support Services (‘PSS’) it also supplies former police officers to police services and other organisations requiring policing skills. Now it’s part of The Inkerman Group, offering security and risk management services.
