In Cab Protection

by msecadm4921

Motorvation, in Shoreham, Kent, has responded to the safety concerns of its commercial vehicle drivers by purchasing several sets of Kabgard, Lokgard and Sleepgard from in-cab security firm Protek-dor.

The products are designed to protect drivers and their property from the risk of attack, the makers report.

Motorvation is a conference and production events transport company, providing transportation of scenery, lighting, sound and audio visual equipment to the entertainment and hospitality industries. Managing director Steve Marshall is acutely aware of the dangers his drivers face whilst on the road, which can sometimes be for several days at a time.

What they say

He says: “Those transporting goods throughout Europe appear to be most at risk, particularly as the nature of our business often necessitates stop-overs in many major European cities. I have had numerous reports of attempted cab break-ins and suspected gas attacks and there is a real sense of a growing threat to the safety of truck drivers.”

Debbie Jones of Protek-dor reiterates the need for extra security precautions: “With the rising number of thieves targeting sleeping drivers and unattended cabs, kabgard, lokgard and sleepgard are invaluable in the fight against this kind of crime. The precision design features of the products mean that they give an unrivalled level of protection, whilst being quick and simple to install.”

Having already ordered more equipment, Motorvation is in the process of furnishing its fleet with the door and window locks. As important, the makers say, are the gas alarms, which alert sleeping drivers to the ominous presence of ether gas, perhaps sprayed in through door vents in order to render victims unconscious.
