Jaeger Choice

by msecadm4921

Jaeger, the British fashion retailer, has chosen to implement LossManager, data mining from IDM Software, to help drive down internal loss caused by fraud, error and process failure.

After a review of the variety of techniques and solutions available, Steve Hearn, Head of Safety and Security for Jaeger, concluded that only a Train of Thought based data mining solution, that enables the user to follow their instincts and expert knowledge to explore loss, could match the changing pace of modern retailing and adapt to the nuances of Jaeger.

Steve said: “We chose ORIS and IDM because they have brought a powerful data mining solution within reach of most retailers and with their unparalleled experience and expertise they offer more than just technology. LossManager will be a key component in our programme of cultural change to make shrink management a priority throughout Jaeger.”

LossManager provides insight into all the evidence surrounding in-store incidents, giving full visibility of all EPOS transaction data.  When combined with data from internal audit and other systems such as close circuit television (CCTV), radio frequency identification (RFID) and electronic article surveillance (EAS), you can get to grips with the bigger picture of internal loss, according to the product firm.

With access from the users desktop, LossManager can be hosted and accessed via the web or installed in-house, and allows a retail estate to be monitored from one location. LossManager empowers the loss prevention team to apply their expertise and first-hand knowledge of their business to pinpoint the most damaging losses, the makers add.

David Snocken, Commercial Director of IDM, commented: “LossManager will allow Jaeger to quickly identify internal loss issues and focus on the highest priority cases whilst avoiding the distraction of ‘false positives’ along the way.”

By partnering with ORIS, IDM have been able to integrate ORIS’ market leading CaseManager with LossManager to provide the firms say a true end-to-end solution.

Steve Hearn, of Jaeger, added: “Initially we will focus our use of LossManager on identifying internal fraud issues but we will quickly extend that to internal audit and process failure in order to deliver higher returns and maximise the deterrent value.”
