Manchester Installation

by msecadm4921

Optex Redwall detectors have been installed as part of security at an office block outside Manchester city centre.

Exchange Quay 2 Metro has won awards for its high Breeam rating, (The British Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method), designed to help construction professionals understand and mitigate the environmental impacts of the developments they design and build.

Ian Ringland, Project Manager for the North West and Midlands Regions at NG Bailey, says: “I was aware of Optex detectors but have never used them until now. The performance of the detectors has been flawless, I think it took a little while to get the angles and fields of detection right, but now everything is working perfectly.

“Since they have been installed we have been very happy with the detectors they are performing as we expected them to – with very few false alarms. We have not had any complaints from our client.”

A range of cameras have been installed throughout the building, some vandal-resistant, with Optex Redwall detectors in the car park. Monitoring of cameras is by local monitoring.

Nigel Hackett, Sales Director for Optex Europe’s REDWALL division adds: “For installations in car parks like this one at Exchange Quay, Optex’s range of detectors perform very well and with a low false alarm rate.

“In terms of security, the detectors have a host of innovative features to overcome issues with masking or tampering. And in terms of installation, everything has been engineered to make the job as quick and efficient as possible, without sacrificing accuracy.”
