Network Management

by msecadm4921

DVR manufacturer Dowshu has brought out the Dowshu Network Management System (NDMS).

According to the firm, the product simplifies all the tasks associated with digital video recording and management. The NDMS can be used by one company to monitor multiple sites or located in a central monitoring station monitoring multiple companies and multiple sites. The NDMS offers surveillance management, the makers add, from a single, remote PC, pda or mobile phone.

NDMS is suitable, according to the manufacturers, for applications involving multiple sites and multiple cameras through to the remote control of one DVR. Despite being network based, no IT knowledge is required to install and use NDMS, it is claimed; formerly the biggest obstacle to using this type of product. NDMS can be plugged in and installed using familiar pc commands and a standard key board. The product then enables multi site monitoring and control from anywhere.

Functions include multi site, multi-screen viewing, video verification of remote alarm events, multiple DVR search options, site map displays for navigation between cameras at each location and alarm management. Alarms are logged automatically and tracked through to their eventual resolution by an operator, with audit trail.
