Olympic Safety and Security is the title of a November 13 event at the Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London.
Organisers say that with over 14,500 athletes competing, 20,000 members of the world’s media expected to attend and some nine million tickets to be sold; the 2012 Games and preparations for them are an unprecedented organisational challenge for the UK. Central to the Government’s Olympic commitment is its promise to deliver a ‘safe and secure Games, in keeping with the Olympic culture and spirit.’
With the Home Office, the Royal United Services Institute will host a conference focusing on the delivery of a safe and secure Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Lord West, the Government’s Minister for Security and Counter-terrorism opening the day. The Organising Partners, officials from across local and national government and industry representatives will come together to present the UK’s security strategy for the Games.
