About the book
Managing Security Overseas illustrates the types of risk and threats which confront corporations and their employees when working overseas assignments. Many books have been written on the processes and principles of security and crisis management for operations located within domestic areas of operation. What is often lacking in such discussions is how to apply such theories and practices to operations located outside of a corporation’s normal confines, and into areas which might be overtly threatening or hostile to multinational corporations as well as their people and assets overseas. This book gives readers the tools, framework and understanding required to do business in a safe and secure manner. Real-world case studies and examples help to illustrate the key elements to having a comprehensive program to provide for the protection of people and assets in any location, no matter what the level of risk.
Features:
* Identified the risks, liabilities, safety and security threats to expatriates and employees working on projects in unstable or hostile regions
* Establishes policies and procedures, and outlines technologies, for locating employees around the world at a moment’s notice
* Describes the issues associate with personnel traveling abroad and details crisis management and security plans for overseas project and offices
* Discusses working with law enforcement, government agencies and military entities including US and other Western government resources.
The book will serve as a reference to security managers, security consultants, contractors, frequent global business travelers, and for those who are presently or soon-to-be assigned in overseas positions.
