Managing parks in challenging times is the title of an APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) seminar, at the Madejski Stadium, Reading on July 23.
Speakers will address key issues including tackling anti-social behaviour in parks – by Cardiff Council.
Parks, horticultural and open spaces are facing budgetary pressures in the current financial climate, new legislative requirements and skills shortages. There are also new opportunities to work with other partners such as the Police and through Local Area Agreements to deliver effective solutions and to gain additional funding. The need to deliver excellent quality services continues and customer needs are constantly changing. This seminar aims to examine some of the main issues and enable parks professionals to meet the challenges for the year ahead. APSE has brought together a range of speakers to pull together these issues and through exploring the key elements this conference will allow delegates to transform policy into practice.
