Commidea, a UK managed service payments provider, and SPAR UK, the convenience store chain, have won the ‘Retail Security Initiative of the Year’ category at the 2011 Retail Systems awards. The Retail Systems awards look to recognise excellence in the field of information technology within the UK retail sector.
SPAR UK and Commidea won the award for the implementation of Commidea’s Ocius Sentinel solution, a PA-DSS approved point-to-point encryption payment solution, in SPAR UK wholesalers. This removes sensitive card data from SPAR UK’s EPoS and associated network, simplifying PCI DSS compliance requirements and securing their customers’ card payment data.
