Reversing Kit

by msecadm4921

Digital CCTV product firm Acam Technology has launched two vehicle reversing kits.

They’re designed to help public and private transport drivers to reverse their vehicles.

Each kit consists of a cab-based monitor linked to a waterproof camera, which is automatically activated when the driver selects reverse gear. The TAM-662 kit consists of a 5.5-inch CRT mono high definition monitor with controls for brightness, contrast and volume. The accompanying camera incorporates audio and infra-red LEDs in a sealed aluminium housing with bracket and sunshield. A manual day/night brightness switch ensures the quality of the image irrespective of the light conditions. The TAM-5 features a five-inch, high definition flat screen colour monitor offering high brightness and contrast and a wide viewing angle. The colour CCD camera is in a sealed housing and includes bracket and sunshield.

Both options come with the necessary extension cable, brackets, connectors and fitting instructions. Monitor views can be switched to provide a mirror image output, which acts like a rear view mirror to assist the driver with vehicle operation and manoeuvres. Free technical support is also available.

What they say

"Vehicle and property damage costs are going through the roof and such accidents don’t exactly help at insurance renewal time. Exorbitant insurance claims from injured parties aren’t welcome either," says Acam managing director Chris West. "Operators are looking to reduce such incidents and a cost-effective, simple to install reversing camera and monitor kit will help them to do just that. This niche market is growing all the time and installers should be making the most of the opportunity." For details, call Acam on 01332 382555.
