Shopping Focus

by msecadm4921

Reliance Facilities Management has announced the launch of SecureClean. It’s described as a new solution for shopping centres integrating the management of security and cleaning services.

It’s, according to the FM arm of Reliance, in response to the need for greater efficiency in managing large scale assets with high volumes of public presence, which has been exacerbated by the current economic climate, SecureClean meets, it is claimed, retail landlords’ need to reduce costs whilst maintaining a focus on increased security threats.

The firm points to the results of the 2008 Reliance Shopping Centre survey, showing the changing demands and pressures on retail landlords. By developing SecureClean, a managed approach to integrated cleaning and security, Reliance says it enables shopping centre owners and managers to reduce service costs and efficiently manage large scale assets.

In the current economic climate

Landlords are looking to facilities services providers to decrease costs by up to 20 per cent, to ease retailers’ financial burden. Integrating the management of services reduces costs, creates operational efficiencies and increases productivity, the contractor says. SecureClean combines delivery of security and cleaning to shopping centres, providing a dedicated service manager across both service streams. This one dedicated service manager would present shopping centre managers’ with one single point of contact for all security and cleaning operations, reducing service costs and driving quality it is claimed through integrated management.

SecureClean is described as a security led approach to soft services enabling both security and cleaning staff to act as a single team. All cleaning staff will receive basic security awareness training and familiarisation with anti-terrorism initiatives such as Project Argus as well as customer service training. Along with Reliance’s security training and Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensing, security staff will also attend on-going excellence in customer service courses.

Paul Crilly, Reliance Facilities Management, Deputy Chairman said: "We have developed the SecureClean approach in response to shopping centres’ evolving requirements. SecureClean is a solution that allows shopping centre owners and managers to achieve significant financial and operational efficiencies through a managed approach to integrated services."
