Terror Aware

by msecadm4921

Trainers Meido are running another ‘terrorism awareness and crisis management’ course in north London on July 18 and 19.

David Rubens reports that after the previous two anti-terror seminars, the format is now expanded to two days, to enable participants to gain most benefit, often by sharing their own knowledge and expertise, but also, he adds by expanding those areas that previous participants have particularly highlighted as being of specific interest.

A guest speaker is Douglas Abbott, who has been involved with security and crisis management with UK and European government. A former special adviser to Lord Robertson, when NATO Secretary General, Mr Abbott was part of the team that reviewed security at NATO headquarters after 9-11.

Organisers report that the event seeks to offer an overview of the terrorist threat in the UK; an understanding of how individual venues and events are targeted by terrorist organisations; tools to create effective risk management solutions; and best practice models to use from around the world.
