VCS has upgraded the capabilities of its PROVI video alarm management system. The new version 3.04 includes multicasting, audio and data recording, multi-client access and a flexible back-up function. A pure software solution able to display up to four video pictures at once, PROVI can decode signals received from a variety of networks (TCP/IP, ISDN, PSTN, GSM) and is used in security management and emergency call centres as well as in security and building management systems. With an intuitive site map-based format, PROVI responds to any alarm by displaying the relevant video picture, with site and alarm plans, giving the observer an overview of the situation and ensuring that critical situations can be managed fast and efficiently. Like VCS?s current hardware and software decoders, this new version of PROVI also supports multicasting and hence enables several local observers to view and analyse a real time event simultaneously. PROVI version 3.04 can save not only video data, but also related audio and transparent data (such as cash dispenser accounting data), hence enabling more effective evaluation of alarm situations. Thanks to PROVI?s new multi-client access capability the archive can now reside on a network fileserver with all the data stored in a database in a manageable form, yet be available for simultaneous evaluation from several workstations at once using VCS software. In addition, PROVI?s upgraded backup function, allows the user to save individual links, or particular time periods as required, and the fact that these data can be controlled and managed centrally makes the system easier to operate and saves both time and money.
