ECA seminars at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

Fire and security firms are being urged to attend next month’s IFSEC International, after the FSA (Fire and Security Association) and ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) agreed a partnership with the organisers to host seminars about business opportunities and developments in the industry.

IFSEC and its sister event FIREX International, for the fire industry, will run from Tuesday to Thursday, June 21 to 23 at ExCeL London. The ECA and FSA will be involved in the following events:

– 21 June – Growing your security business
– 22 June – Electrical safety: the hidden perils
– 23 June – The future of home automation
– 23 June – Smart buildings and home technology

Head of the FSA Steve Martin said: “IFSEC International is without doubt one of the biggest occasions on the fire and security calendar and we are delighted to have such a prominent role at this year’s conference. Our seminars aim to showcase some of the biggest innovations in the industry, and to give professionals the information they need to grow their business and expand into new areas of work.”

Director of IFSEC International Gerry Dunphy added: “IFSEC and FIREX are delighted to be welcoming the FSA to this year’s shows as the members are a key audience within the security and fire sectors. The shows provide a blend of products, technical expertise and learning opportunities to help FSA members harness vital knowledge to develop and grow their businesses.”

Some of the speakers during the three-day event include former British Army officer Colonel Tim Collins, BBC broadcaster Kate Adie, and double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell.

The FSA and ECA have a stand within the exhibition area. IFSEC/FIREX is free to attend. To find out more or to confirm attendance visit www.ifsec.co.uk.
