The information security, risk management and business continuity firm Ultima Risk Management (URM) is the first training provider to gain GCHQ certification for an ISO 27001 training course. The certification was awarded by APMG International, GCHQ’s independent certification body responsible for ensuring training providers match GCHQ standards.
GCT (GCHQ Certified Training), formerly known as CCT (CESG Certified Training), was established to help infosec people and organisations navigate the cyber training market and identify courses that meet standards of both content and delivery.
The trainers say that the three-day ISO 27001 Implementation Course was developed by URM in response to market demand and is the first course under the GCHQ Certified Training scheme to have an independent exam, developed by APMG, to test learning and provide evidence of competence. The course aims to provide understanding and practical interpretation of the steps involved in planning, implementing and maintaining an ISO 27001 compliant information security management system. Briefly, ISO 27001 is the International Standard for information security management.
Martin Jones, Managing Director at Ultima Risk Management, said: “Gaining GCT certification for our ISO 27001 course provides added reassurance to our customers that the training they will receive meets the highest standards, both in terms of content and delivery. As a training provider, we’re not content with offering static guidelines on best-practice; instead our course is geared to instil dynamic, time-enduring and pragmatic approaches to ISO 27001 implementation.” And Richard Pharro, CEO of APMG, said: “GCHQ is widely recognised as the preeminent authority on cyber intelligence and data security, and GCT-certified courses enable this expertise to be introduced to enterprises. Through Ultima Risk Management, people will gain valuable insight into how to implement ISO 27001 in the real world.” Visit: https://apmg-cyber.com/products/gct-gchq-certified-training.
