ATM case study

by Mark Rowe

A case study of Bank Central Asia in Indonesia. One of Indonesia’s largest private banks, it has its ATM machines across the country, including Jakarta, Bali and Bandung. The bank decided to upgrade its security at ATM machines.

BCA provides three types of ATM – Multifunctional ATMs, Non-Cash Transaction ATMs and Cash Deposit ATM. BAC requires one ATM digital recorder to cover four ATM machines at the same time, and support four RS232 ports to transfer information.

The Dahua DVR0404AS-VD is a four-channel 960H 2HDD ATM standalone recorder, that comes with four-channel video and four-channel audio input, and gives full channel@960H real-time recording and all channel synchronous real-time playback. The RS232 port can connect to a keyboard for central control, and can connect to a PC for maintenance, and matrix control. It can be used to connect to the ATM and point of sale to send out or receive the card number protocol data. Moreover, the recorder supports multiple network monitoring such as web view, CMS (DSS/PSS) and DMSS to meet the requirements of the bank. A thousand of the DVRs were installed around the country.

Indonesia, on the equator, tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Indonesia is wet and dry, without extremes of winter and summer. To withstand such a climate, Dahua customised the DVRs to support two fans to fit this kind of weather.

Andy Tan, Sales Manager of PT. Vinotica Lestari Cemerlang, said: “Being used for a while, Dahua ATM DVR is quite stable. Now BCA is getting high-quality surveillance 24/7 and we are confident to provide a secured environment for customers, employees, and asset.”

“We are proud to deliver our ATM solution for Bank Central Asia to increase its safety and security,” said Debbie Du, Sales Manager of APAC at Dahua Technology. “Dahua can always realise the diverse needs of our users. That’s how we differentiate ourselves from other single product suppliers.”
