Infosecurity Europe 2021 registration

by Mark Rowe

Visitor registration is now open for Infosecurity Europe, the annual London information security event. The exhibition and conference will run from Tuesday to Thursday, July 13 to 15, at Olympia London; meanwhile that week, IFSEC 2021 is due to run at Excel across the city in Docklands.

Infosecurity Europe registration is free until July 12.

This year’s event will combine physical and virtual elements, say the organisers Reed Exhibitions Ltd, so that participants who cannot attend the live event can get involved, with selected talks and discussions to be recorded and made available online. Among visible changes, 2021 will not have badge holders or lanyards; and those attending will be required to wear face covering. Attendees are asked to avoid shaking hands and exchanging physical business cards; and catering will be cashless.

A first confirmed keynote speaker is Robert Hannigan, former Director General of UK intelligence agency GCHQ. He will take to the stage on day three (Thursday, July 15) to speak on ‘the Rising Nation-State Cyber Activity and its Impacts’, on the reality of nation-state sponsored cybercrime, and how security people can mitigate that risk and develop a resilient information infrastructure for their organisation.

Nicole Mills, Exhibition Director at Infosecurity Group said: “Infosecurity Europe 2021 will provide one of the first opportunities in over a year for the information and cybersecurity community to come together face-to-face. By making sessions available via a mix of virtual and physical platforms we aim to make the event more widely accessible. Whether visitors attend in person or online, they’ll have the opportunity to learn from the experts, explore the latest products and technologies, and build valuable relationships. We truly can’t wait to meet everyone again, and finally celebrate Infosecurity Europe’s 25th birthday. It may be a year later than planned, but we’re looking forward to being back together as a community.”

As for the health and safety of visitors, exhibitors and others, the 2021 show will be run in strict compliance with covid-19 guidelines, based on emerging direction, scientific evidence and guidance from domestic and international relevant authorities (including the WHO), trade and industry associations, and Reed Exhibitions’ own says the organiser. The 2020 expo like other summer events was run online only. Infosecurity Europe is also running a virtual conference from June 8 to 10; the original dates for the 2021 show.
