Taipei hotel

by Mark Rowe

The five-star Landis Taipei stands in the central business and finance district in Taipei City, the capital of Taiwan. An original CCTV system was analogue-based. The hotel has adopted an IP-based security system from VIVOTEK. Project specifications included resolution, image quality, and wide coverage for the outdoor and parking areas. Installed were five camera models, fisheye fixed network domes FE8174V and FE8172, fixed network domes FD8134 and FD8363, and the fixed network camera IP8151, besides VIVOTEK’s video management software, the ST7501. The fisheye cameras come with a fisheye lens and a 5-megapixel resolution sensor, for monitoring open areas, such as car parking, streets, and walkways. Four FE8174V models were mounted on the outer walls of the hotel to give a 180 degree, panoramic view of the outer perimeter. Three FE8172s were installed to the ceiling of the lobby for a 360 degree surround view, pictured. Five FD8134s were installed in separate communal areas and one was mounted above the main entrance. The FD8134 features a 1-megapixel camera that can give viewing resolutions of 1280 by 800 at 30 frames per second. And three IP8151s were installed outside the lifts. This camera features a 1.3-megapixel CMOS sensor that achieves a viewing resolution of 1280 by 1024 at 30fps.

William Ku, Vice President of VIVOTEK’s International Sales Division, said: “Hotel security is important to not only the operation and management efficiency of the hotel, but also the safety of customers. Hence, the reliable surveillance system is exceptionally important. Here at VIVOTEK, we endeavour to develop the best surveillance solutions for our clients and, ultimately, create a safe hotel.” Visit VIVOTEK.com.
