CompEX complete

by Mark Rowe

Evolution (Electronic Security Systems) has become one of only a handful of companies within the UK security sector able to install and maintain systems in sites with the potential risk of explosive atmospheres, after completing CompEX training.

CompEX certification follows the completion of training and practical assessments on the installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical and instrumental systems in a flammable gas, vapour or mist environment. It is a recognised global scheme, traditionally for the protection of oil, gas and chemical workers offshore and onshore.

The training covered both the theory and practice of working in potentially explosive environments. Some of the practical elements of the course took place in custom-built facilities to include a realistic working environment and simulated hazardous areas.

Richard Lambert, co-founder and Managing Director of Evolution, says: “We are proud of our reputation, which has been built on supporting customers who may require specialist knowledge or specific technology. By further up-skilling our engineers, we will be able to deliver an even broader range of solutions for even the most challenging environments.”
