Sales and marketing manager

by Mark Rowe

Eaton’s security business has promoted Orlaith Palmer to sales and marketing manager, a newly created position.

Palmer has worked for a number of global firms, including Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems and Ricoh, where she brought in channel management based initiatives that drove up sales and market penetration across Europe. She joined Cooper Security, which recently changed its name to Eaton, in early 2013 as its marketing manager, and has been integrating it into the Eaton organisation.

The electrical company Eaton acquired Cooper Industries in 2012.

Palmer believes that unifying marketing with the sales function has numerous commercial benefits: ‘Since I joined the company I have been particularly impressed with the excellent reputation that the Menvier and Scantronic products have amongst installers and users of our industry leading security equipment. Now, as part of Eaton, I’m looking forward to building even stronger relationships with our customers by implementing a channel management policy that grows our market share and achieves broad product penetration through our valued distribution partners.’

A number of channel marketing strategies are under way for 2014, Palmer will work with and report into Eaton’s UK country sales manager, Simon Reed, plus Matthew Phelps, managing director of Eaton’s Security Business. Phelps said: ‘It has been a great pleasure working with Orlaith over the last year in what have been some incredibly exciting, and challenging times for the company as we become Eaton. Her efforts in ensuring a seamless transition have been invaluable and I’m delighted that she now has the opportunity to contribute even more to our overall growth strategy. I’m convinced that the drive, enthusiasm and ambition she possesses in abundance will help us reap massive rewards within our distribution channel.’
