New from Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung Techwin) are cameras and DVRs in the WiseNet HD+ range. The company says they offer Full HD 1080p images, for users not yet ready to migrate from analogue to an IP network-based video system.
The products have AHD technology that can deliver HD images over coax cabling. The makers say that the seven camera models and three DVRs in the range offer an upgrade path for legacy analogue systems, as well as new installations.
Tim Biddulph, Head of Product Management for Hanwha Techwin Europe Ltd, said: “The ‘plug and play’ WiseNet HD+ range can support the transmission of HD images (and audio) without any latency or image loss, at distances up to 500m using standard coax. This alone is impressive, but what makes our WiseNet HD+ stand out, as well as being highly cost-effective compared to other AHD based solutions, is that it is very easy to implement as there is no need to incur the cost and time of installing encoders, converters or switches.
“The DVRs can also support existing analogue cameras and by being able to do so, they provide users with the opportunity to extend the life of their legacy systems and maximize return on investment [ROI].”

All seven cameras offer true day-night with an integrated infra-red cut filter. They also come with Dual Power capability and SSNRIV, the latest generation of Samsung’s Super Noise Reduction. This eliminates image noise in low-light without creating ghosting or blurring and with it’s claimed up to 70 per cent reduction in bandwidth use or video storage space, compared to standard cameras.
The three digital recorders can simultaneously record in real-time across all channels, whilst multi-streaming the transmission of images across the network and including mobile devices. The DVRs features selectable bandwidth up to 64Mbps, audio support and the choice of HDMI or VGA outputs.
