Manchester tech award finalist

by Mark Rowe

27k1 Ltd recently launched the 27k1 ISMS – Information Security Management System at the Kyocera Technology Showroom in Chancery Place, Manchester. Peter Farrer, Director at 27k1 Ltd gave a detailed demonstration of the 27k1 ISMS to an audience of information security consultants. The software is aimed at companies that wish to gain ISO 27001 certification, the international standard for information security management.

The company is a finalist in the 2019 Manchester Evening News Tech Awards, nominated within the “Best Global Reach” category, sponsored by Openreach.

The awards were open to individuals and companies based in Greater Manchester. They recognise those companies that are driving the region’s tech sector. Manchester-based alternative finance provider, Praetura, is corporate sponsor. Amazon, Openreach, Bauhaus and Godel are category sponsors. The winners will be unveiled on Thursday, July 18, at the Runway Visitor Park, Concorde Conference Centre, Altrincham.

The 27k1 ISMS

The 27k1 ISMS has been developed to offer an intuitive ISO 27001 compliance solution. One of the internet enabled features of the 27k1 ISMS is a link to the number and types of crimes committed in proximity to a particular location. This is an important aspect of ISO 27001, since risk assessments need to be considered when reviewing vulnerabilities and threats to people and property assets.

Jeremy Martin, Director at 27k1 Ltd said that those companies that rely upon the internet to engage in domestic and international trade, who exchange commercial documents, IP, transactional and other data, need the assurance that they and their trading partners maintain a robust, resilient and trusted Information Security Management System.
