F1 provider

by Mark Rowe

Since January 2012 H&M Security have been the security provider to the Marussia F1 Team. London-based H&M (who recently opened an office in Gibraltar) secure the Marussia F1 Team Technical Centre in Oxfordshire, providing security guards, concierge security services, mobile patrols, CCTV and covert security consultation. Due to the size of the centre and its considerable value in machinery and other assets, H&M say that they have designed an approach which combines manned security guards on site 24 hours, aided with CCTV that is monitored through the company’s control centre.

Formula One is a 24 hour business. As a result the guarding team liaises with the Marussia F1 Team on all logistical arrangements. It is not uncommon for the MR01s to return to the facility in the early hours; it is H&M Security’s responsibility ensure the site and equipment is secured. Marussia F1 Team stakeholders pass through the Technical Centre front of house on a daily basis, hence the concierge security service provides face-to-face communication and presents a corporate image. H&M Security also works with National Grid, NHS, Government and Network Rail.
