MBSS adds managers

by Mark Rowe

The Exeter-based security company Marsh Barton Security Services (MBSS) has added to its management team. In 2012, former Royal Marine Marcus Di-Vincenzo bought the company. Among the latest to join are, pictured left to right, Joe McGough, as COO; and Harry Smith, as Operations Manager.

Joe spent 16 years in the Royal Marines, seeing active service all around the globe. He was awarded the Green Beret before his 17th birthday, making him one of the youngest Royal Marines Commando of modern times.

In 2004 he left the Corps and went into the private sector in the United Arab Emirates. Joe and his family returned to the UK in the summer of 2013. After heading a number of projects for MIG Security & Events (also owned and run by Marcus), he took up a position of Chief Operating Officer for MBSS.

Harry Smith was born in London and was in the military for several years before being introduced to Marcus Di-Vincenzo and joining the team at MIG Security and Events in London five years ago. Harry acted as a team leader, heading the body guarding and close protection services for some of MIG’s highest profile clients. Harry has now left London to bring his young family to Exeter and run a range of client accounts at MBSS.

Managing Director of MBSS, Marcus Di-Vincenzo said: “We are really proud to have a highly skilled and experienced workforce here at MBSS. I have known Joe and Harry for a long time, and couldn’t think of two more hardworking, professional and driven individuals to head up our operational team. They have worked all around the world implementing successful security strategies, and now they are bringing that expertise to Exeter.

“It’s thanks to the motivation and commitment of the staff that MBSS has continued to grow and become known as the number one security firm in Exeter and one of the area’s best small businesses.”

Joe McGough said: “It’s a great opportunity for me to be involved in the growth of a professional security company. It’s a pleasure to work alongside Marcus who I have known for over 20 years, and the rest of the team. To move my family back from the United Arab Emirates to somewhere like Exeter is fantastic because we have the best of both worlds here in Devon. Great work opportunities and a great lifestyle. My aim now is to keep MBSS at the top of the industry, delivering top quality services to businesses and homeowners throughout the south west.
