Architectural ironmongery shortlist

A short list for the 2015 Specification Awards has been announced. These awards, every two years, are organised by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) with the support of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

In their 28th year in 2015, these awards recognise excellence in the specification of architectural ironmongery for its aesthetic qualities, and its contribution to security, accessibility and safety of the building in which it is used. Shortlisted entries under the awards’ five categories are:

Commercial
Minerva House, Em-B Solutions; Tate Britain, Allgood plc; West Yorkshire Police Divisional HQ, Em-B Solutions; and World Conservation & Exhibition Centre, Allgood plc

Hospitality and Residential
Henry Moor Court, IZE Ltd; Housing 21 – Meadowfields, Em-B Solutions; St James Square, IZE Ltd; St James Gateway, IZE Ltd; and The Rosewood Hotel, John Monaghan Ltd t/a HAF

Education
BCU Parkside Project, Eisenware Ltd; Glasgow School of Art, Allgood plc; and Harris Academy, Leaderflush Shapland Laidlaw

Health
Royal Star & Garter, Allgood plc; Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre, Allgood plc; and Southmead Hospital, Leaderflush Shapland & Laidlaw

International
Hong Kong Science & Technology Park, Key Technologies; Indoor Velodrome – Hong Kong Sports Centre, Key Technologies; 11-39 Blue Pool Road, Hong Kong, Tung Fat Ho Building Materials; and Sports Hub, Singapore, Elmich Keytech PTE.
