Door automation

by Mark Rowe

The Digiway Spring Return from the access control product company CDVI offers door automation, assisted by a chain driven spring mechanism. It is suited the makers say for heavy manual workplaces and offers full assisted door automation when required. An evolution of Digiway Plus, the Digiway SR is able to automate doors up to 180Kg and 1.4m wide. Keeping the set-up process near identical to the Digiway Plus, this offers a familiar installation, the company says.

Set up is carried out using the in-built LCD and programming buttons or via the RF remote control . Operation is described as reliable, smooth and quiet thanks to the chain drive and integrated shaft encoder continually checking the status of the door being automated for compliance with EN16005, the European Standard for safety in use of automatic doors.
