Going for Gold is the title of the free morning security seminar and exhibition in Manchester on Wednesday, April 18, at The Bridgewater Hall, Lower Mosley Street, Manchester M2 3WS.
Greater Manchester Police Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan is to open the event. He says: “The 2012 London Olympics in particular will provide some unique opportunities and challenges during the coming year.
As well as hosting some fantastic sporting events, Manchester can expect to benefit from the increased media and tourist interest that will be generated during the year. This is an exciting time and presents us with a chance to work together to ensure we are all prepared to meet these challenges.
“Security 2012 will provide you with an opportunity to hear from key note speakers on the latest local policing response to the impact of the London Olympics. In addition you will have the opportunity to meet with partners, to discuss the latest security issues and to see some of the latest developments that will assist you in ensuring that your security is up to a gold medal standard to meet the forthcoming challenges.”
Doors open to the exhibition at 9am and ACC Shewan will open the event formally at 10am.
The event organiser is the former GMP officer Stuart J. Pizzey MBE, now Business Police Liaison Manager for Securitas. To register for a place, email Christine Brooks at the BSIA: [email protected].
