Corps briefings

by Mark Rowe

Corps Security, the UK security contractor, will host a new series of its free breakfast briefings during 2013. Building on the 2012 events, you can hear about the security technologies, trends and best practice.

The idea of Mike Bluestone, director of security consulting at Corps Security, each event will take place between 8.30am-9.45am and refreshments will be provided.

Bluestone, pictured, said: ‘Security professionals and facilities managers are incredibly busy people and taking time out to attend events in the middle of a working day is often impossible. Having the breakfast briefings early in the morning allows delegates to obtain valuable information and network without negatively impacting on their schedules.’

Each of the 2012 events was oversubscribed and drew heads of security and security directors, alongside others involved in the procurement of security services. Presenters included the London Resilience Team of the Metropolitan Police, which looked at the methods it used to ensure safety during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and The Protector Services Group (PSG), which explained how it provides risk mitigation solutions and corporate security services to multinational companies, governments and private individuals all over the world.

Having attended two Breakfast Briefings during 2012, Marc Took, Regional Security Manager for Robert McAlpine, said: ‘Mike and the team at Corps Security fully understand the type of information that is of interest to security industry professionals. These events are extremely well organised with interesting, knowledgeable and informative speakers, and I would advise anyone that wishes to make excellent use of an hour or so of their day to attend.’

Plans are being finalised for three breakfast briefings during 2013 and those who would like to attend are urged to pre-register, as each event is strictly limited to 35 places. Once the dates are announced each delegate will receive an invitation that will also contain details about who will be presenting. Those interested can pre-register by sending an email to [email protected].
