Pelco range

by Mark Rowe

Pelco by Schneider Electric’s Sarix IL10 Series box cameras and micro domes are available through the distributor Norbain.

Suitable according to Pelco by Schneider Electric as suitable for small- to medium-sized businesses, the cameras are the first of more than 50 new Sarix fixed IP camera products to be released in 2013. The high-definition IP network cameras are part of Pelco’s Value range and produce colour HDTV video. The integrated fixed focal length lens enables scene alignment and installation. The series, which comes in four models, is suitable for indoor use, the makers say.

Other features of the products include:
• Convenient Power: The PoE models integrate with PoE-enabled network switches or power injectors, eliminating the need for separate power supplies and cabling. The 24 VAC models are also offered for installations where 24 VAC power already exists.
• Web Interface: Uses a standard web browser that allows for remote setup and administration. Users have a one-step camera configuration for features including colour, exposure, flicker control and streaming. In addition, a one-click shutter allows users to capture JPEG images of the live view for documenting, positioning or easy event recording.
• Video Streams: Can support two simultaneous video streams that can be compressed in H.264 format, allowing the streams to be individually optimised between highest quality and bandwidth/storage efficiency. The cameras support text overlay with options for time, date and camera name.
• Systemisation: connects to Pelco IP and hybrid video management systems and major third party video management systems through the Pelco API. The cameras also support the ONVIF Profile S standard for connection with third party video management systems.
