Ultra relaunches

by Mark Rowe

Ultra Electronics’s identity division, based in Weymouth, has been relaunched as Ultra Electronics ID.

The ID product company makes and supplies the Magicard line of identity card printers. Recently, the firm adds, identity issuance software, secure technology cards and other desktop credentialling products have been added to. Ultra’s wider security products include network security appliances, such as hardware security modules and encryption devices, which are deployed by governments and the military to manage credentials and counter cyber-security threats.

Managing Director, Andy Matko, said: “The world of identity is changing, with two main themes developing; the convergence of logical and physical security, and greater adoption of new technologies, which are usually smart cards, but also can be smart phones or biometric devices. So, by relaunching as Ultra Electronics ID, we are complementing our proven Magicard range of ID card printers with other products from within our parent company, Ultra Electronics, and beyond. This combination and the addition of software products and technology cards that tie it all together, enables us to bring to market a range of interoperable products that together form trusted identity solutions.”

Magicard is the product brand for the card printers, and will continue, the company adds.
