CCTV kit for the winter

by Mark Rowe

With the dark nights upon us, a lighting product manufacturer is offering a free ‘Lighting Survival Kit’ to aid all CCTV systems to become fit for the winter.

Raytec’s Lighting Survival Kit is designed to help security people achieve better images at night and save energy and money, at a time of year when lighting is on for longer, when more crime occurs during darkness, and when cameras are most vulnerable. The kit consists of two services:

1.Free Lighting Design Service:

Raytec’s lighting designers can help design a lighting system that guarantees excellent images during the hours of darkness and is tailored to your individual requirements. Raytec says it can offer 2D and 3D lighting design plans highlighting the best possible lighting positions, number of fittings and detailed lighting levels. 2.Free Energy and Cost Saving Report Service:

Bad lighting accounts for a surprisingly large proportion of electricity use, the firm says – as much as 40 per cent for many it is claimed. With a free lighting design, Raytec can provide information on the efficiency of lighting. The reports detail the return on investment and the energy and cost savings to be made over one, five and ten years, by switching to LED illuminators compared to a traditional lighting solution.
