SIM standard

by Mark Rowe

BT Redcare reports that all new orders placed for BT Redcare GSM will be supplied with a roaming SIM as standard.

There’s also an option to upgrade existing GSM STUs to a GSM STU with a Roaming SIM. There’s a 12 month minimum rental term for new orders and upgrades.

For details contact BT Redcare on 0800 800628 or email [email protected].

About Redcare GSM

Redcare report that their GSM is a Grade 4 alarm signalling system. The BT phone line on which your Redcare GSM operates is monitored constantly and if the line is cut or there is a fault on the line this is signalled to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) within 40 seconds.

The back up or ‘secondary’ path is now provided by roaming GSM which is a digital mobile phone network. Redcare says GSM uses any of the UK mobile phone networks and always selects the strongest signal available which means that in the event of the existing network being unavailable it will automatically select another network to transmit the alarm.
