Camera mounts, brackets plated

by Mark Rowe

All steel mounts and brackets for Redvision’s X-Series PTZ and dome camera now have corrosion-resistant, zinc plating, beneath the powder-coated, paint finish. The marine-rated zinc plating, originally developed for oil rig applications, makes the X-Series mounts and brackets suitable for sites from coasts to chemical plants, according to the makers. The mounts and brackets are available in light grey (RAL 7035) or black (RAL 9005) powder-coat paint as standard, or can be ordered in any bespoke colour from the RAL range.

The steel pedestal, pendant, swan, corner, wall extension, pole and dynamic mounts are all zinc coated. The stainless steel washer adapter bracket remains unpainted. All mounts and brackets include cable management access, with flying leads from three to 10 metres, for installing.

Paul Hucker, Managing Director of Redvision, says: “We have used zinc plating in marine applications for some time. It costs Redvision more to make the brackets and mounts with zinc plating as standard, however, money is saved for customers by having a rationalized range and a subsequent reduction in stock requirements.

“We recently introduced a marine-finish upgrade option for our X-Series PTZ and dome cameras. This allows cameras supplied with a regular, powder-coat finish to be upgraded to a Standard Marine or Extra Marine, environmentally-toughened finish. By zinc plating all mounts and brackets, they are automatically marine-finished, so installers have no need to return them as part of the upgrade.”
