IT and telecoms company Advantex Network Solutions Ltd has gained the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) NACOSS Gold Award. Pictured are Tony Brend, field operations manager for the NSI, and Advantex’s David O’Connell.

Advantex, which has sales of £4m and employs 40, supplies and supports IP (Internet Protocol) camera systems and infrastructure to such regional and national customers as GE Wellstream, The Gambling Commission, Nissan, SCS, Redcar and Cleveland College and Gateshead College.

One of the few IT firms to have gained gold, the Gateshead-based company achieved certification in less than three months

Towards Advantex’s certification, directors Stephen and David O’Connell have brought in new quality control systems and procedures and staff training for core skills in customer service and care, and security system engineering and installation expertise. Advantex is looking to drive its sales of IP systems and cameras.

NSI’s service delivery director, Kay Aitkin said: “Advantex’s attainment of NACOSS Gold approval within three months is an impressive achievement; demonstrating the planning and hard work carried out by David and his team. By choosing to become approved by NSI, Advantex can reassure their customers that their business practices are being regularly and robustly scrutinised by the UK’s leading certification body for the security industry. We congratulate Advantex and wish them every success in the future.”

And Advantex’s operations director, David O’Connell, said: “NACOSS Gold approval is testament to not only the excellence and quality of the added value solutions we provide but also the high calibre people we employ who help to drive the business forward. This success is the latest step on the company’s continuous improvement journey, adding to the already impressive quality management systems we have in place.

“We provide one of the best services around in North East England and NACOSS Gold approval will help to reassure new customers that we are a solutions-based market leader in advanced, high quality IP technology and installations.”

Advantex was established in 2002 and achieved the ISO9001/2000 industry quality mark within its first year of trading and holds the IOS9001/2008 mark. It is an accredited Microsoft, Cisco and Mitel partner.
