by Mark Rowe

Chubb Fire & Security Limited are among sponsors of this year’s International Association of Museum Facility Administrators (IAMFA) Annual International Conference, in September in Scotland. As part of the IAMFA 24th Annual Conference, guests from cultural institutions around the world are invited to Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as to explore Scottish cultural institutions. The conference will offer ideas for improving business operations, enhancing sustainability and reducing business costs.

“A long-standing service provider to numerous museums and heritage sites throughout the UK, Chubb is proud to be a part of this event that addresses innovations to improve business operations, enhance sustainability and reduce costs in this important sector,” said Alastair Reynolds, regional managing director, Scotland and North Region, Chubb.  “I believe Chubb has established an excellent reputation in protecting museum and heritage sites, where specialist solutions are required, and this event provides a useful platform for sector professionals from across the globe to network.”

Chubb’s clients in this sector include: The National Archives in Kew, Surrey; Hever Castle in Kent; Lanhydrock House in Cornwall; Scotland’s Dumfries House; Witley Court and Gardens in Worcestershire; The National Library of Scotland; and The National Gallery and Dublin Castle in Ireland. John Pearce, general manager at Chubb’s Edinburgh branch, will represent the company at the event. The theme is “The Fourth Dimension,” also known as the concept of time, and the conference will discuss how Scotland has reinvented itself into an accessible and sustainable modern cultural destination.

Delegates will be given exclusive tours of the Burrell Museum in Pollock Country Park, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, The Riverside Museum, the National Museum of Scotland, The National Galleries of Scotland and the newly refurbished National Portrait Gallery.
