RoSPA award for Securitas

by Mark Rowe

Securitas’ approach to prevention of accidents and ill health has been recognised in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2015.

The judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s Awards Manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Securitas, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”

Most of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive, graded by merit, bronze, silver and gold. Organisations that maintain high standards in consecutive years can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.

Phil Thomas, Securitas EH&S Manager said: “This validates all the hard work undertaken, not only by the health and safety team in supporting the business, but throughout the organisation. All levels of Securitas personnel work tirelessly to communicate an increased awareness for health and safety, creating a safer working environment for both our employees and customers alike.”

The Gold Medal, the ninth for Securitas in as many years, will be presented to Phil at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, July 15. See www.rospa.com/awards.
