Pelco on show

by Mark Rowe

Pelco will exhibit at APS Paris, Porte de Versailles, Pavillion 5.1, Aisle A, stand A45 from 29th September 2015 followed by Sicurezza, Fiera Milano, Hall 24, Stand T21 from November 3.

Pelco will use the exhibitions to show-case VideoXpert, the company’s new video management software (VMS) platform and Optera, the multi-sensor, panoramic cameras, which provide video images over 180 degrees, 270 degrees or 360 degrees views.

VideoXpert™ VMS manages single and multi-site video security systems from a single workspace interface. Its ‘Unified User Interface’ (UUI) allows up to six monitors to function as a single workstation, configurable to suit the operator. The product can support limitless cameras and hundreds of operators.

Plug-in architecture enables system expansion through integrations with third-party systems, such as video analytics, ePOS, ANPR, access control and building management software, all controlled using VideoXpert’s intuitive UUI. Deployment is on distributed IT architecture, with built-in redundancy and modular, scalable, failover management to maximise system reliability.

Pelco will also be exhibiting its Optera Series, 12MP ‘panomersive’ cameras with panoramic viewing. Optera is featured in the Professional Security magazine camera and dome supplement, free with the September 2015 issue; it uses four, 3MP cameras blended together to act as a single video stream. These cameras provide electronic pan, tilt and zoom, allowing operators to zoom in on areas of interest to see levels of detail more comparable to a PTZ dome, according to the firm. This is available on both live and recorded video. Client-side de-warping ensures Pelco’s VideoXpert and other third-party VMS solutions see the Optera series as a single camera for licensing and video management purposes.
