New FSA Vice Chairman

by Mark Rowe

Tom Brookes, Managing Director of Lindum Fire Services, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Fire & Security Association (FSA).

Brookes, pictured, will work with Pat Allen, FSA Chairman, and Steve Martin, the head of the FSA. He takes up the position after a 25-year career in the fire industry that has seen him serve as a technical advisor to the British Fire Consortium, the Fire Industries Association and the British Standards Institute; as well as playing an active role in the development of City & Guilds’ 1853-03 NVQ Level 3 qualification.

Steve Martin, Head of the FSA, said: “Tom’s extensive industry experience and technical expertise will be a huge benefit to the FSA, our members and the industry we support. This is a crucial time for the fire and security industries, and Pat and I look forward to working with him to ensure the FSA continues to offer members the support they need to grow their businesses.”

And Tom Brookes said: “The FSA has been a tremendous source of support and advice to me and countless other businesses during a challenging time for the industry. I’m looking forward to working with Pat and Steve to help them expand and evolve its offering and to continue to ensure that members are in the best place possible to make the most of the upturn in the economy and the industry’s fortunes.”
