Cyber consultant

by Mark Rowe

The Dorset-based cyber security company C3IA has appointed Darren Reho as Principal Consultant.

Before entering the private sector, Darren, pictured, was ten years in the Royal Air Force as a communications engineer specialising in information security and cryptography.

He joins a company with a staff of 84 that is one of a dozen in the country certified by the government’s new National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

Darren will continue to work in his areas of expertise and will also provide training and security consultations. He said: “C3IA is well-known among government agencies and in the military – and now it has come out of the shadows and into the commercial realm there is huge potential. Like me, many people here are ex-military and they are highly knowledgeable, but also pragmatic.

“The strength of the staff here is that they have all been there and done it for real. Our aim is to enable the client to act themselves by informing them of the various risks and then how to deal with them.”

C3IA director Matt Horan co-founded (with Keith Parsons) the Poole-based business a decade ago. He said: “Our work is about identifying risks and putting a plan in place to mitigate those risks. It is a team effort and we require highly skilled and experienced specialists, which is where Darren fits in. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience which we can utilise across our client base.”
