Streaming software

by Mark Rowe

ONStream is body worn video product company Edesix’s new camera streaming gateway software. It integrates Edesix VideoManager body worn video with Video Management Systems (VMS) for fixed IP camera networks. This new software enables ONVIF-compliant Video Management Systems to work with Edesix body cameras, streamlining management of users footage. Camera footage can be shared and viewed.

Richie McBride, Managing Director of Edesix said: “Fixed security cameras connected to a VMS is a powerful tool for monitoring and securing many different environments, from retail floors to distribution centres. ONStream, with Edesix’s VideoManager software, enables any ONVIF compliant VMS to be unified with VideoBadge and VideoTag cameras to provide unparalleled detail of incidents as they unfold. This software furthers the potential of your VMS, protects valued staff, and captures concrete and secure footage for future review. It enables immediate response by control rooms and later review by supervisors. It also means live streams can be recorded as evidence, which can then be securely shared with third parties, including the police. The service is fully encrypted with audit trails to protect the evidential quality of footage stored.

“Edesix Body Worn Cameras are capable of streaming live video and audio feeds from multiple perspectives and viewpoints to a control room, whilst simultaneously recording footage in HD quality locally to the device for the creation of complete evidence packages.”
