The recent Safer Internet Day has inspired a renewed commitment to the fight against cyber bullying, with organisations like Microsoft, The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP), Crimestoppers and the BBC becoming involved. All are in agreement that a collaborative approach is required to combat cyber bullying and other forms of cyber crime, according to the latest report by The Security Company published on its website.
“In addition to the publicity this event continues to receive, the Commons Science and Technology Committee recently called for an awareness campaign to simplify internet security and tell people what they can do to protect themselves online,” says Hannah Tufts of The Security Company. “It is essential to familiarise parents in particular with online threats such as cyber bullying that target children and young adults.”
