by msecadm4921

The inaugural Event and Venue Security conference and exhibition is in central London – at the QEII Centre on April 18 and 19.

Invited speakers include Walter Gagg, Director for Stadia and Security, FIFA; Peter Ryan, the former British police officer who superintended the 2000 Sydney and Athens 2004 Olympics security; John Saunders, Chief Executive of the SIA; and David Dickinson, BSIA Chief Executive. Case studies include Arsenal FC, the Glastonbury Festival, Wimbledon and the Gillette Stadium in the United States.

What they say

David Dickinson, Chief Executive of British Security Industry Association (BSIA) says: “Given the constant level of threats facing public venues in general, an event like this is extremely important as a way for the world’s security experts to meet and exchange information and experiences.” And John Clifford, Field Operations Manager, National Security Inspectorate says: “The inaugural EVS event will provide a much-needed forum for security professionals across the sports and entertainment sectors to meet and share case studies and best practice approaches to safety and security. The NSI and myself are pleased to lend our support to this industry event."

Running alongside the conference is a trade exhibition. Exhibitors will include suppliers of a range of equipment such as CCTV monitoring and installation, access control, alarm systems, remote monitoring, security lighting and training. If wishing to attend either the conference or the exhibition call 0208 822 6919 for further information.
