CCTV And Access

by msecadm4921

CCTV footage can now be viewed in Paxton Access’ network access control product Net2, using the integration of the latest Network Video Recorder (NVR) from JVC Professional Europe which is preloaded with Milestone XProtect surveillance software.

Adam Stroud, Sales and Marketing Director for Paxton, says: “Viewing both access events and CCTV footage via one application is quick, timesaving and efficient, making life considerably easier for the user. Our strategy of extending the appeal of Net2 through integration of related technologies is clearly working.” The JVC VR-N900U 9-channel NVR is supplied already configured with Milestone XProtect software and can be connected to Net2 via an existing LAN/WAN. To view a live or recorded, image, users double click the camera icon on an event in the Net2 event log. An image of the user involved appears alongside the recorded footage. As the software is web based, images may be viewed remotely. To ensure all events are captured recording is continuous even while viewing recorded images or during the NVR archive routine. Using Net2’s trigger and actions functionality, alarms can be created to notify the user of door events, of use, the access control product firm adds, when the building is being monitored out of normal working hours. Yash Patel, Executive Director, CCTV Europe at JVC Professional Europe, adds: “The move illustrates the growing worldwide trend for CCTV to be integrated with access control with clear operational benefits for end users.”

“Paxton was the first to integrate access control with surveillance software from Milestone, the global leader in open platform IP video management solutions. Now, the standalone JVC NVR with Milestone software is available for this best-of-breed integration of powerful IP video and access control – a very attractive package," adds Lars Thinggaard, CEO, Milestone Systems.
