Chartered latest

by Mark Rowe

Steve Goad, of Capital One (Europe), and Nick Hymans, of Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) are the latest to become a CSyP (Chartered Security Professional). They take the total number of chartered security people to 34, after the first were qualified in May 2011.

Nick Hymans joined Credit Suisse in December 2007 as Vice President Security Services. He is responsible for the day to day security operations within Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A former British Army Officer, Nick has a law degree and before he joined the bank worked in a number of roles at Control Risks, ArmorGroup and Group 4 Falck.

They go on the Register of Chartered Security Professionals, and a person joining the register is known as a CSyP. Briefly, the Security Institute manages the register on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. Why seek the standard? You sign up to a code of conduct and have to show professional development. For details of the qualification and how to apply visit the CSyP part of the institute website: https://www.security-institute.org.
